Food, Gratitude and Joy

Day 147 – A Year of Gratitude and Joy – Outdoor Dining

I’ve written about al fresco dining before. I am grateful for those days when we can grab our plates and head out onto our back patio and enjoy a little outdoor living.

The end of a fun meal with friends on our patio.

But on a recent trip, as I wandered about, I was struck by the sheer volume of restaurants that now offer outdoor seating. I know it all started because of COVID, but it’s magnificent!

Spring flowers and festive blue furniture make this restaurant inviting.

Restaurants have taken over the street parking spaces and created dining rooms behind hedge-filled planters and temporary pony walls.

Hedge-filled planters and artificial turf mark the boundaries of some restaurants.

Some are bright and cheery, others take on a more formal tone with their tablecloths and  flower-filled mini vases.

As we head into the time of year when the weather can bless us with perfect days and evenings, consider finding a restaurant with outdoor seating, someplace you can sip a glass of wine, enjoy a tasty meal and have fun watching the world go by for a little while.

Enjoy a tasty meal and a glass of wine outdoors on a nice spring day.

There’s a whole world out there just waiting to be explored. You gotta eat, so you might as well watch other people explore while you take a break.
