Gratitude and Joy

Day 159 – A Year of Gratitude and Joy – Laughter

Someone once asked me what my favorite sound in the world is. My response was simple, “The sound of children laughing.” The laughter and glee that fills the air as you pass children playing fills me with joy.

Since I answered that question years ago, I’ve realized it’s not just the laughter of children … it’s any honest laughter. It’s friends in a pub cracking up over something ridiculous.

It’s families sitting around the table, laughing as dad offers up a groaner, or a family reunion where we gather together to share funny tales from the past.

Cutting it up with family members is always fun.

It’s being anywhere with your best friend who always seems to bring up an embarrassing moment from the past that leaves you both laughing until you cry.

My best friend and I could laugh together at everything!

We all love a good laugh. There’s a reason sitcoms and movie comedies are so popular. There’s a reason we pay to crack up as a comedian regales us with the improbable and hysterical.

Kate Quigley had us laughing til we cried.

There’s a whole world out there just waiting to be explored. Laugh as much as you can.
