Gratitude and Joy

Day 202 – A Year of Gratitude and Joy – What Now?

The other day I realized I am well past the halfway point of my year of gratitude and joy. Some days, writing a blog about what makes me smile and feel grateful is more challenging than others. It’s not that I am not grateful for something, it’s that I realize I’ve already written a blog about whatever it is that I’m loving.

Most early mornings I’m at my computer writing and posting this blog.

Early on in this process, I worked hard to make sure I didn’t duplicate anything. As the year progressed, I noticed many days I am grateful for the same thing. It would be easy to write a regular blog about how grateful I am for Greg or my incredible neighbors or how comfortable our home is or how lucky I am to be able to do the things I want to do or … well, you get the point.

The challenge is that no one wants to read the same thing day after day … or at least I wouldn’t, so I assume you wouldn’t either. So I sit here on day 201 thinking of what to say on day 202 (I TRY to write at least one day ahead). It’s a Saturday, so I could write about the weekend, but now that I’m retired, weekends are somewhat  irrelevant … except that Greg is not working during the weekend (most of the time), so there’s that. We had some storms roll through the other night with some spectacular lightning; they always bring me joy.

Then I read a note from a reader like you, thanking me for these stories, and I thought, “what are my readers grateful for?” So let’s turn the tables as we celebrate the near half-way point of our year … what brings YOU joy?

There’s a whole world out there waiting to be explored. Sometimes the best part of the journey is just thinking about what’s to come!
