There are few things as refreshing and thirst-quenching as fresh-squeezed orange juice!
For some reason, winter has always been the season of oranges in my life. As a young girl, Santa always left an orange or tangerine in my Christmas stocking. He continued that tradition when my children were born. This year, he even left a delicious tropical delight in Greg’s stocking. I suspect that’s where the winter/orange thing started.
I was at the grocery store recently and saw the usual seasonal pile of oranges and tangerines, but there was also a pile of MANDARIN oranges! What a treat. I snagged a couple for a salad and snack.
I also grabbed regular oranges. In the morning, I whipped out my antique juicer, sliced those orbs of citrus flavor …
… and proceeded to squeeze out that vitamin-C loaded beverage into a favorite juice glass.
I patiently waited for the last few drips to fall into the glass before savoring the taste of liquid sunshine.
Whether you buy your juice ready to pour, rehydrate the frozen concentrate, or squeeze yours fresh, I hope you find a way to enjoy the flavor on occasion.
There’s a whole world out there just waiting to be explored. It seems like no matter where you go, orange juice shows up at breakfast time.
