Gratitude and Joy

Day 89 – A Year of Gratitude and Joy – Taking Risks

Travel introduces us to so many things we never knew. The sounds of a place … music, a language you don’t recognize, cowbells jingling as the cows come down from the mountain pasture.

You taste things you never expected to try, or had never even heard of. Growing up, I’d never had an artichoke or avocado … those now regular items in my diet were discovered while traveling.

Lasagna in a pumpkin was a delicious travel discovery.

You dare to take risks. I’d never been paragliding … until I did it on a trip. How many times have you seen someone parasailing off the coast on a beach vacation and thought, “hmm, I wanna try that”?

Hamming it up for the camera over Lima, Peru.

Travel inspires me to grow and change, to live for a few days out of my comfort zone and experience daredevil moments. It gives me monumental memories that I can share forever. It fills me with joy.

Greg snapped a pic of me as I took off in a sail plane.

I am grateful for that … for the inspiration and spontaneity and courage I find when I travel. I love the enthusiasm it instills in my soul.

There’s a whole world out there just waiting to be explored. Take the risk, try the food, dazzle yourself and create memories to last a lifetime.
